Chennai: 3 more arrested for hosting illegal party at Anna Nagar Mall

According to police, based on a May 21 tip, Anna Nagar’s Prohibition Enforcement (PEW) wing reached the mall and found a party, “Great Indian Gathering,” being held. without police permission. During the raid, police said they discovered alcohol was being served to those partying at the Monkey Bar, through the adjacent Madras Bar, without the required licenses. The police seized 844 bottles of alcohol.

After an initial investigation, the police arrested Nivas Bojaraj (33), manager of the Madras Bar, S Edwin Devapathurain (35) and K Bharath (41), manager of the Monkey Bar. Following further investigation, police on Wednesday arrested S Ravindra Kumar (26) and C Vignesh (31), coordinators of the Great Indian Gathering, and A Pavan (34), general manager of Monkey Bar.

Police said they would take tough action against those who run illegal bars and hold parties without obtaining police permission.
