A Melbourne mum recently revealed she used the My 7-Eleven app to lock in fuel prices for seven days – and she’s not alone.

“It pays to have the 7-Eleven fuel app as gas stations increase – as you can see you can lock it down and use it to anyone,” he said. she writes in a low-budget Facebook group.

The woman also shared images of today’s gas rate compared to her block price.

On the day she went to the gas station, the price for a liter of Supreme+ 98 fuel was $2.15, but the mother’s block rate was $1.72.

By using the app, she managed to save $13.94 and her total cost was reduced from $70.02 to $56.08.

“I just filled the 91 at $1.52,” one person wrote, another added, “Around us it fell to $1.50 something so I stuck at $1.53 and they all started going up to $1.93.”

A third added: ‘I use it but also double check the Petrol Spy app as it shows all surrounding petrol stations not just 7Eleven.’

The lowest gas prices are highlighted in red while the most expensive locations are in green.

Maps show various petrol locations including Ampol, Caltex, Costco, Coles Express, Woolworths, BP, 7-Eleven, Shell, United, Metro Petroleum and Independent Servos.

Currently, the cheapest for unleaded gasoline91 in Sydney is at Leichhardt for $1.79 per litre, while in Melbourne the cheapest is at Alphington for $1.95 per litre.

Adelaide has overall cheaper prices than the eastern states, with the lowest price being $1.65.

On Facebook, the website has more than 5,200 fans where winners of daily vouchers are announced.

It comes as prices for groceries, rents and gasoline are skyrocketing across the country due to inflation, produce-damaging weather conditions and international factors.
